Hope

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Blogs are truly amazing! Like the street corners of the modern age...

Matthew 6:5-7
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

I invite you to follow Jesus' teachings, live by example, and be secure in your own relationship with the Almighty knowing that there is no need to proclaim it and show it as some badge of goodness. As we see on the news, even today - this is what hypocrites do.

The verse that you referenced was talking about prayer. As much as these words are of encouragement to me, it is not truly regarded as prayer. While Jesus did command us to pray in a quiet place, He also commanded us to proclaim His word through out the nations. (See Matthew 28) He said that if our voices are silent, the rocks will cry out. (See Luke 19:40) He commands us to proclaim the message of His word. While I do hope that my actions are an example to others, I am not ashamed to say aloud what God is doing in my life and share what he is using to change me.

I wish that it did not come across to you me trying to wear it "as a badge of goodness." That was not my intention at all. However, I do not plan on changing the way I write on my blog.

Thank you for your feedback.
